The University of Alberta and Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta signed a historical agreement Thursday, with the goal of getting more Indigenous students into the rehabilitation medicine professions. The program will take on 35 students in the areas of occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy.

Virtual Speaker Series
This Virtual Speaker Series will bring perspectives stemming from Critical Race Theory to inform clinical practice, teaching and research in rehabilitation sciences. Specifically, the Speaker Series will provide Critical Theoretical frames and research to understand racism, equity, and social-justice in the context of rehabilitation sciences in Canada. Critical perspectives are needed to transform and reframe our understanding of health outcomes for all Canadians.
On September 29 and 30, U of A community members are called upon to wear orange to honour the experiences of children who were stolen from their families and placed in Indian Residential Schools.
